Are You A Junkie? Or A Juggernaut?
At every scenario game, one can divide the players into two basic groups: the action junkies and the juggernauts. Action junkies just run out there and throw paint, heedless of tactical orders from the team leaders. The juggernauts work as a unit, following orders, focusing on objectives, and engaging only when it benefits the team. Who do you want to be? paintballtimes.com |

Hydrotec's New Paintballs
Hydrotec made their grand announcement this week about their new line of paintballs that they believe will revolutionize the industry. I'm still skeptical whether the new paintballs will even noticeably affect the industry, but the new technology does sound interesting.Apparently rather than the classic method of encapsulating a fill in a gelatin shell, Hydrotec has come up with a corn-based shell that will not swell when it comes into contact with water (so your paintballs won't be ruined if you leave the bag open in the humidity). While that is all fine and dandy, it's the fill that really interests me. Hydrotec claims that,The fill is a gel when at rest inside the shell, but immediately upon impacting a target it runs like water until the energy from impact dissipates (milliseconds) and then again returns to a gel state.A non-runny fill that splats like a liquid is a cool idea and I'll be interested to try them out when they're available later this year.Hydrotec's New Paintballs originally appeared on About.com Paintball on Wednesday, September 15th, 2010 at 17:12:28.Permalink | Comment | Email this paintball.about.com |
Black Friday Paintball
When most people think of Black Friday, they often think of waiting in line all night to get doorbuster deals on electronics. Paintball companies, though, don't want to be left out on the mix and have started to have their own Black Friday sales. Since most of the largest paintball companies are primarily web-based, that means you can do your shopping online. Here are just a few of the deals I found you may want to checkout.ANSGear.com is offering a bunch of discounts but buying a BT-4 Combat for $110 and getting a free E-Vent mask is quite a steal. (Note: the same deal is available at Paintballdiscounters.com and FirstCallPaintball.com and likely at other sites, too)Actionvillage.com has free shipping for orders over $30 and a pretty decent selection of items on sale.ZephyrPaintball.com has a black Friday sale going on and they have a refurbished Cybrid Gun for 19.99.These are only a few of the sales going on. If you know of any other sites that are having deals or if you find a great deal, please share them in the comments.Black Friday Paintball originally appeared on About.com Paintball on Friday, November 26th, 2010 at 11:17:47.Permalink | Comment | Email this paintball.about.com |
