New Assocation of Paintball Fields The Paintball Operator's Association (POA) is a newly formed group of paintball field owners that is striving to assist member fields "in bringing the fun and excitement of the game to new and existing players." You can read about it here.The idea behind a field owners association is good - get paintball fields to bond together to further the growth of the sport. I hope it works and helps paintball grow. That said, the field owners I know generally are pretty concerned with just getting everything done for their field that they really don't have massive amounts of free time to focus on macro-scale issues in paintball today. Sure, it's fun to talk about the sport in general, but when you get down to it, the daily grind of running a field often predominates most field owner's energies.I'll be interested to see what the association does, and as they proclaim, "creating the association was the natural next step in moving [..] discussion into action." Maybe if enough field owners join and actually agree to work together to make a concerted effort in educating the public about the sport as well as encouraging new players to try it out we'll see some positive results.
